Contribution to the Field

Dr.Ramesh has been recognized as an International Abstracts reviewer for STIs/HIV/AIDS International Conferences/Workshops worldwide. He was invited as a chairperson for more than 20 international Conferences/Workshops on HIV/AIDS worldwide. Dr. Ramesh, as chairman has organized New Millennium First National Conference on HIV/AIDS in India from May 7th to 10th, 2000 in Tirupati, A.P, India and around 476 people attended from 15 different states. Besides, he has conducted more than 200 seminars, workshops and training programmes on STIs/HIV/AIDS, blood donations, cancer and trained 18,000 doctors and 25,000 paramedical staff and fellow NGO’s about HIV and works to reduce the stigma about people living with HIV in AP combined state. In recognition of his unique services on HIV/AIDS, Dr.Ramesh has received 3 times accreditation (with national membership status ) and participated at first, second and fourth United Nations General Assembly Special Sessions on HIV/AIDS held at UN Head Quarters, New York, USA (years 2001, 2008 and 2016). And his organization achieved Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Dr.Ramesh is the first to talk openly about HIV/AIDS in India and the stigma which accompanied it, he considered the latter to be just as, if not more, dangerous than the virus. He started the first HIV awareness (along with sex education) programmes in schools and colleges braving the backlash from a conservative society. While his work was initially disapproved by those around him, over the years, Dr. Ramesh earned national and international recognition for his pioneering work.

Even through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic situation, Dr Ramesh has successfully conducted International conferences starting from November 2020 to June 2024 in the fields of Interventional Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Cardiology, Neurosciences, Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Surgical Oncology, Rheumatology, Hematology, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and Interventional Radiology. These gatherings had legends in respective specialties as faculty with around 750 National & International speakers.
This has received excellent applause from all over the country and abroad. Around 2,50,000 postgraduates, practicing doctors, IMA doctors and faculties in teaching colleges from all over India and abroad participated and expressed their gratitude to Dr.Ramesh for giving them extraordinary opportunities to learn from the most reputed teachers from all corners of the country and the world. All the participants were given Andhra Pradesh medical council 4 CME Credit hour’s certificates for each conference free of cost with a total of nearly 200 CME Credit points awarded. we have started International Conferences to educate primary care physicians in the country from January to December 2023 onwards as National Dean, IMA College of general Practitioners These kinds of activities have not been conducted anywhere in India and even in the world by Medical Colleges, Medical Institutions or Medical Associations so far, especially during the two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s a World record and submitted to Guinness book of World Records and waiting for the reply.
Important points
These 47 online conferences in different super specialties of the medical field were conducted by only one person – the organizing chairman Dr. Rayapu Ramesh Babu (Myself). Dr. Ramesh successfully organized these conferences while fulfilling his responsibilities in the following roles:

1. For each conference, every participant received 4 CME credit accreditation hours provided by Andhra Pradesh Medical Council, Government of Andra Pradesh
2. A total of 200 CME credit points were provided free of cost (no registration fees) to all the participants within 2 weeks of time.
3. These gatherings had legends in the respective specialties as faculty with 750 National & International Speakers. Out of them, for each conference at least 16 National and International speakers gave lectures (maintained quality of speakers)
4. Conferences were organized every time on different Super Specialities with an intention to maximize the number of Specialities covered.
5. Participants from across the entire country and abroad attended.
6. Around 1000-1800 participants would be online continuously from morning 9am till evening 6pm during the conferences. This kind of participation is rare for online events.
7. We strictly followed the protocols, principles and ethics laid out by Govt. of India by avoiding support of pharmaceuticals and other corporate hospitals.
8. We have also received applause from Hon’ble Prime Minister of India & Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Medical Council.
9. From January 2023 onwards, we started International Conferences to educate Primary Care Physicians in the country.
10. We had VIP’s and VVIP’S perform the Inauguration of our Conferences. We are privileged to have 3 Governors - His Excellency the Governor of Haryana State, Andhra Pradesh State, and Telangana State. The Vice Chancellors of Health Universities, Directors of Medical Education, Govt. of A.P state attended almost all the conferences.

We are very happy to inform you all that today’s Regional CME on Cancer care & treatment was went on well with lots of laurels and appreciations from the participants from Chittoor, Nellore and Kadapa branches IMA Members. The total number of participants registered – 352 (Personnel 94 & virtual 252) and participated 329 (personnel 83 and virtual 246) it’s really a great participation and grand success. Never before in the history and memoirs of IMA, Tirupati and SVMCAA there has been such a glorious celebration - wherein 31 Covid Warriors were felicitated for their colossal and gargantuan efforts during this ghastly and hideous pandemic of COVID-19. Such a great privilege to all of us in complementing our Covid Warriors. Nowhere in India such activities have been conducted sofar in COVID-19 situation, even by the Medical Colleges, Medical Institutions and Medical Associations..
