Prof. Dr. Rayapu Ramesh Babu is an internationally renowned expert Physician on HIV/AIDS Medicine,and a Messiah for HIV/AIDS patients in India since 1987. A pioneer doctor and AIDS crusader in India’s fight against HIV/AIDS, who since 1983 as a medical student started voluntarily working on HIV/ AIDS (first volunteer on HIV/AIDS in the world). Since 40 years he has been continuously rendering immense contributions to HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and treatment and took up the cause of AIDS research at a time in which other doctors didn’t want to talk about it due to the stigma attached.

Prof. Dr. Rayapu Ramesh Babu has well trained in more than 100 countries, By invitation, he has attended more than 103 International conferences on STIs/HIV/AIDS worldwide. His work is testified through hundreds of Peer Reviewed Research papers extensively on STIs HIV/AIDS have been published in International journals as Abstracts and his contribution towards HIV/AIDS acknowledged across the world.

Prof. Dr. Rayapu Ramesh Babu has successfully organized an extraordinary, unique, and exemplary academic initiative in the country. He conducted 50 regular monthly Super Specialty Academic Conferences virtually from November 2020 to September 2024, covering diverse fields such as Cardiac Sciences, Medical Oncology, Neurosciences, Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Surgical Oncology, Rheumatology, Haematology, Reproductive Medicine & Surgery, updates on Medical & Surgical Specialities and Interventional Radiology. These conferences featured eminent legends and senior faculty in each specialty, with over 750 national and international speakers. The initiative received overwhelming appreciation from across India and abroad.More than 2,50,000 postgraduate students, practicing clinicians, IMA doctors, and faculty from medical colleges nationwide participated and conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ramesh Babu for providing such an exceptional platform to learn from distinguished teachers from India and around the world. All participants received 4 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours from the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council for each conference, completely free of cost. In total, approximately 200 CME credit points were awarded. During the year 2023 alone, a series of International Conferences were organized to educate and empower Primary Care Physicians across the country. Such extensive academic activities have never been conducted anywhere in India or globally by any medical college, medical institution, or medical association—particularly notable given that they were successfully executed during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic period. All programs strictly adhered to the protocols, principles, and ethical guidelines issued by the Government of India, with no financial support from pharmaceutical companies or corporate hospitals. This principled approach was widely appreciated. The initiative also received commendation from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and from the Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC).
